QOVERNOR ASSASSINATED.
ANTI-TURKISH FEELING IN SAMOS. By Telegraph—Prejra Aesociation—Copyright (Rec. March 25, 9.30 p.m.) Constantinople, March 25. A Greek lias assassinated Kopassis Effendi, Prince-Governor of Sarnos, by firing a revolver at him. The assassination is attributed to the Governor's Ottoman sympathies. Samos is an island off the coast of Asia Minor, forming a principality under the sovereignty of Turkey, under the guarantee of Prance, Great Britain, and Germany. By the treaty of 1832 it is provided that the Governor shall bo a prince of Greek nationality nominated by the Sublime Porte. Kopassis ElTendi was born in 1858, and was appointed Governor of Samos in 1907.
