A sensntionn) story was unfolded by Sub-Inspector iieuurey ut the Police Court to-iliiy, when Wong Chuck, a d'np-pcr-looliiii}; young Celestial, appeared bofore Mr. Cutten, S.M.,on a charge of having on thu previous day attempted to kill his wife (n- , while woman), by attackiii(! her with a knife. Tlio Rub-inspector cxpluiiifld that, Wong was 11 married iijan, and yesterday lie and his wife l>aid a visit to Henderson. They returned some time in the evening. Wong went and liis wife visited the house of another I Chinnnmn. This latter Celestial iiccoiu* panied Mrs. Wong home, anil went inside with Jicr, When Wong returned, ho saw (lie two in the house together. He flow into a violent passion, and ordered the intruder to leave. He then look up a knife, and rushed at Mrs. Wong, and attempted to "do" for her. The constable's attention was attracted by the woman's scream?, unit he rushed into the house', and found man and wife struggling together. By (he time ho obtained entrance, Wong had a knife in eaeh hand, and ho heard him say, "I'll kill you. Ho pulled oft tho excited Chinaman,' who was taken to the police cells. The woninu had sustained home scratches to her face. Mr. Quartley appeared for Wong, and asked for a remand. A. remand was granted until April.nn application for bail being refused.
