SWIMMING.
WOESEE BAY CLUB. The Worser Bay Amateur Swimming and Life 1 Saving Club carried out n short sports programme on .Saturday last. There wus a attendance of-spectators. The results of the events are as follow. — Brodio Cup (final), 150yds.—Hampson, 1; Blick, 2; \Voon, 3. Inter-club race, 50yds.—Campbell, 1; Smith, 2; Melton, 3. Boys' race (under 12).— N. Blair, 1; N. Eowntree, '2. Walker and Hall Cup (final).—Bell, 1; Doughty, 2; Jcnkinson, 3. Ladies' race—Miss Powell, 1; Miss Nesbit, 2. Tho Lyall Bay Life Saving Club gave an exhibition of Mfe saving. The club has now 270 members, and appears to have started its career of usefulness in encouraging swimmin;; and life saving in the water with every project of success. Mr. D. Blair' is patron; Mr. John Brodie (Mayor of Miramar), president; Mr. G. It. Green, contain; Mr. 1!. T. Bell, secretary; and Mr. H. Wyalt, treasurer. Tho elul> wns greatly helped in making Saturday's function a success by a party of local ladies, who took charge of the afternoon's tea arrangements.
