WHY THEY LOST THE BATTLE.
Sir, —It is generally admitted that tho old saying: "You can fool some of the people all the time and all the people some of tho time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time" is a true one. That is the rr-aaon -the people of New Zealand last Dccpmbor, elected a majority of members opposed to the Ward Administration, and now they find that their judgment is to bo ignored and laughed at through a system of jugglery practised by Sir Joseph Ward; and when they have the opportunity of again expressing their opinion, what will it be? I now respectfully request tho Prime, .Minister to hold a meeting, say, at the Town Hall here, and place his position plainly before tho people of Wellington. 1 will guarantee a full House. He will then see what ho has missed by not coming before the pecplo as lie says he and his party should have done previous lo the last election. I now here pub Heir challenge him to fane a Wellington audience. Is ho gmne?— L am, etc., AN ELECTOR.
