LIBRARIES ASSOCIATION

EASTER CONFERENCE IN WELLINGTON. The Libraries .Association of New Zealand is to hold its annual conference in Wellington at East'cr, commencing on Saturday, April li. Mr. T. W. Leys, of Aucklaiid, a delegate from that city and president of the association, will occupy the chair. Other representatives will lie as follow:—Wellington, Messrs. .11. Baillie (librarian). Councillors Jlindmarsh, Atkinson, and Trevor, and I'rofessor von Zedlib;; Dimedin, Messrs. M.'Ewun (librarian), and Councillor J. .1. Clark (chairman of the Library Committee); Timaru, Mr. .T. Craigio, M.'P. (Mayor of Timaru); Chrislehiirch, Jlr. Rowo (libruriiui of (ho College Public Library) will probably attend the conference in a private capacity; Auckland, Messrs. Shillington /librarian), and T. W. Leys, and Miss Williams (of the Leys Institute). The proceedings promiso to be interest, ing. Two papers are being forwarded from America, one from Jtr .1. Duff Brown, a, prominent London librarian; and one from Miss Windeyer, of (he Mitchell'Library, Sydney. Mr. T. King, of Wellington, will also read a paper on the principles which govern the National Home-reading Association of England, an institution which fosters systematic reading on certain specific lines.
