MIRAMAR AFFAIRS.
A mooting of the Mirnmar Borough Council was held last evening, Hie Mayor (Mr. J. ISrodie) presiding. Councillors ISowie, Richards, Tel ford, Stone, and the Town Clerk (Mr. Bennett) were also present.
An (ilFer was received from Miramar, Ltd., to sell 1111 area nf 15 ncros for .€SOO an acre, which was .CIOO an acre less than the land cost the company, tho ground in question to be used as a recreation ground. —Referred to the Recreation Committee to report. ' A complaint was received fiom si resident regarding wandering stock. Jt was stated that owing to this cause it was impossible to grow hedge.,-. The nuisance was not so much in ovidenco during (lie week, but was especially noticeable on Sundays.—lt was decided to inform )}io resident that if ho could give tlie council the necessary evidence proceedings would be taken. The-City Council notified that a special car would bi> put on tho Miramar run at 1.8 p.m. on Wednesdays. It wns decided to supply the Seatouu Amateur Athletic. Club with material for flooring the in Scnloiin I'arlc. The engineer reported as follows:—That tlio Minimal- Avenue tramway, had lieon inspected by tho I'ulilic Works Department, and 11 certificate of completion forwarded to tho Wellington Cos Company. Also that the work of completing tho south side of Broadway hod been finished.
