Wanganui Wedding. Tho village church at Maugamalui, wlucli had Wen artistically decorated lor tlio occasion oy the lneims of tlio bride, was tho scene ot a very pretty wcililmg on. Wednesday, February :!S, when Miss Kitty Macdonakl, daughter of the late Mr. J. iuacdonald .and Mrs. Macilonald, of Glenalailatc, was married to Air. Arthur Jt. Collins, son ol tlio late Captain Collins, of Wangnnui. 'J ho brine, who was given away by nor brother, wore a gown ot ivory crepe-Ue-cltino with tulle veil ami orango blossoms. Slio earned an exquisite bouquet of white asters, carnations, and asparagas fern, and wore a bcnutitiil pendant, tne gilt ot the bridegroom. Misses J. and :U. Maedonald (sisters of the bride) wero the attendant bridesmaids, and both wore white lingerie tracks with black satin hats and carried bouquets of sweet peas and asparagas fern. Their gold bangles were the glits of the bridegroom. Miss Betty Simpson (nicco of the bride) was also in attendance and wore a white embroidered lrock with heliotrope ribbons and a black hat. She carricd a basket of llowers, and her gold brooch was the bridegroom's gilt. Mr. Harold Collins (brother of the bridegroom) was best man, and Mr. I'. Tuckling acted as groomsman. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. Uoss, of Wanganui, assisted by the Rev. li. Evans. Afterwards the bride's mother held a reception at Glenaladale.

A pretty wedding was quietly celebrated in St. Paul's Pro-Cathedral yesterday,' when Mr. Percy Reynolds, chief officer of tho Tyser liner Whakarua was married to Miss Duhsford, of Dunedin. Tho liov. A. M. Johnson, M.A., officiated. The Whaltarua was gaily decorated with bunting in honour of tho occasion. Tho marriage took placo in Palmerston North on Monday of Mr. William Alexander Lyons, first assistant teacher of tho College Street School, Palmerston, aiui I Miss Eva Walkley, daughter of Mr. J. Walklby,/of" Palmerston. The Rev. W. F. Hutchinson officiated at the ceremonv, which took placo in All Saints' Church. The Rev. A. T. Thompson, of Masterton, and Mrs. Thompson are staying at Mui'itai. Miss Lock, of Wanganui, left Wellington for Sidney bv tho Moana on Fridaylast, to join the Grosser Kurfurst, which sails for England to-day. Miss Jacob (Chri6tchurch) left Wellington yesterday by the Mapourika for Nelson. Mr. and Mrs. Oswald Richardson left by the Main Trunk express for Auckland on Saturday. Sir Henry and Lady Miller, who have been staying with Mrs. W. Miller, at Pa-, hiatua, have returned to Wellington. A very friendl.v custom which has been established at Victoria College is that of welcoming new women students at the beginning of tho year at a tea given at tho College by students who arc no longer "freshmen." As the 1912 session commences at the College very shortly, the customary welcoming tea, to which all new women students are invited, will be held in tho gymnasium on Thursday afternoon, at D.30 o clock. Miss Speed has returned from a visit to Pictou. Miss Audrey Kettle has returned to Napier from tho south. Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Vallance (Kahuminga) motored over tho Rimutakas to Wellington on Monday. They intend leaving on a visit to Marlborough and tho south. Mrs. West (Bolton Street) has gone south to be present at tho marriage of her niece, Miss Alice Hutchison, in Oamaru.
