Mr. T. Ballinger moved, last evening, that tho whole of the executive should wait upon the Acting-Minister for Education (the lion. T. Mackenzie) and that failing satisfaction being obtained in that quarter, the association shoukl fake legal proceedings to establish its rights. Tho president (Mr. L. K. Partridge) seconded the motion and remarked that, at tho present time the association was in the position of having to pay .£5 a mouth rent for offices, while it received nothing. In replv to a question, lie added that tlio rent claimed by the association and disallowed by the Auditor-General was X10I) a year. Mr. Ballinger said that tho association had been in the habit of giving the Technical Education Jioard J?25 a year. This carried a Government subsidy of equal amount. The association had discontinued its donation since the.rent difficulty arose, so that tho Technical Education Hoard was losing .C.M) a year. Tho secretary (Mr. 11. F. Alien) mentioned that although it had discontinued its subsidy, the association had been notified as usual that it was ont.itled to appoint a member to the Technical Education Board.
