ONE OF AMUNDSEN'S DOGS. The Wellington "Zoo" is shortly to pos foss one 6"f the Siberian dogs which Cαi> tain Amundsen used in his successful excursion to the South Pole. As it was not likely that the dogs would bo taken across tho equator again, Mr. John Castle, on behalf of the Wellington Zoological Society, cabled to Captain Amundsen (at' Hobartj as follows:— "Would you present the Dominion with a dog which has been to tho South Pole, also an autograph certificate for our Zoo and museum, thus providing a lasting" memorial." Captain Amundsen immediately replied: "With pleasure." The dog should arrive lieic next week.
