She lmil sworn that she had three children under fourteen years of age, whereas inquiry showed that one was a child of her daughter. Defendant said she had maintained the child since its birth, and did not wilfully mislead the Court. Tho Magistrate,' Mr. Cruickshank, said there must bo frankness on tho part of applicants. Ttoso who made false declarations were li.:>blo to three months' imprisonment. The pension was refused.
