| T (Bjr Telefrajih.-Speeltl Correspondent.) Palmerston, March 15. •About (wo hundred delegates are expected (o attend the Grand Orange Lodge Session at Palniorslon during Easter. Tho local lodge has the arrangements for tho gathering well forward. On Easter Sunday thero will be a grand parade, find united service at Ilis Majesty's Theatre, «t which speciul addresses are to lie given. Mr. C. Smith, manager of the Palmerston branch of the Bank of New Zealand, is spending o holiday at the liluo Jl oun tains, N.S.U". He expects to return to l'almcrston at Easter. After a showery morning, torrential rain fell this afternoon, and many of the streets and pavements .were flooded, causing great inconvenience. Tho flood■wnter got into several business premises, and did some damage. The concert given by Mr. C. H. Stephens, of Wellington, at tho Municipal Hall last night proved n most enjoyable entertainment, though the rough weather rather interfered with tho attendance. Mr. Stephens's contributions to the programme were nearly all encored, most of the numbers being lien- to tho Palmerston people. Miss Louise Croucher, a very capable violinist, and Miss Gov, a pianiste of more than averago merit, also contributed items, which were greatly appreciated. Miss Vera Graham accompanied most capably. The ]<ev. 11. G. Koscher, Vicnr of .411 Saints Church here, who has been suffering severely from neuritis, is at present undergoing a courso of treatment at Rotorua, and ids friends will be pleased to learn Hint he is receiving much benefit from the baths. At a meeting of hockey players at the Clarendon Hotel last night. Mr. J. M'Rarilie in the chair, it was decided to form a new club, under the designation ■ f the Phoenix Hookey -Club. Tho following officers were elected Patron, Mr. li. M'N'ab; president, Mr. J. S. Watchom; vice-presidents, .Messrs. D. Buick, M.P., .T. If. P. Strang, W. M. Halley, G. S. Dixon, and AV. AVillett; secretary, Mr. T. O'Sullivan; treasurer, Mr. W. Kinnear; delegate to the association, Mr. A. C. Nicol; committee, Messrs. G. IVatchorn, I?. Meatyard, Paltbidge, Ellison, and Henrv; Selection Committee, Messrs. Ellison, Wntchorn, and Meatynrd.
