Alajor Lang fell from his horse, which was woundod by tho third shot. The assailant ia named Antonio Dalba. Ho is 21 years of age, and a typical Apache. The crowd almost lynched him before the police succeeded in getting him away. The prisoner declared that he was an individualist anarchist, and had no ncoomplices. The crime, ho said, was in the nature of a protest against the organisation of society. Their Majesties visited Major Lang at the hospital. A vast crowd gave them on ovation. QUEEN SHIELDS THE KING. All tho shops were shut at two o'clock in the afternoon and the trams suspended, to enablo tho shopmen to lake part in a demonstration outside tho Quirinnl. Flags and patriotic placards wcro displayed everywhere. The Mayor addressed a great gathering of 50,000 Romans, and a procossion paraded the streets to tho Quirinal. Their Majesties and their children appeared on a balcony, amid the huzzas of tho crowd, which obliged the King to return again and again. MESSAGE MOM KING GEORGE. London, March U.
