THE PEOPLE'S ZOO.
Sir, —Kindly allow space in your valuable columns for a few suggestions re the above popular institution.' In the first place, the council are to l)e congratulated upon allowing the use of collection boxes in aid of funds for the above, and the results were most satisfactory for a start, seeing that the public subscribed over .£9 at short notice. Now, Sir, perhaps our subsidised bands might be persuaded to giro one or two special musical performances at the park during the year, when collections would be made, and I am sure the public would respond liberally, and what with these special collections and the increased revenue derived from the public who daily visit the Park, and thus patronise our tramway service, the cost of the upkeep of tin's valuable acquisition or asset to the city would really be inlinilesimal.—l am, etc., J. NEWHOUBE. Wellington South.
