Wedding in St. Peter's. At St. Peter's Church yesterday after noon the marriage took placo of Mis Agnes Charlcsn-ortb, eldest daughter o Mr. J. Charlesworth, Orientnl Bay, am .Mr. C. Smith, third sou ot Jlr. C. Smith of Wellington. The liev. Archdeacoi Harper officiated, and Dr. lungton I'yfl'i played the organ. The bride, who Wai given away by. her father, wore a ven handsome bridal gown of ivory duohesi satin, with an overdress of lace, trimme< with pearls and silver embroideries, am a pearl Juliet cap, with :i handsomely cm broidered yjjl. She carried a beaiitifu bouquet of stephan'otis, white roses, am maidenhair fern, composed by Miss Mur ray. The bridesmaids were Miss l'ilchcr wearing a frock of pale heliotrope satin veiled with ninon, and a pretty mob ca] to match; Miss Olga Wilson, in pale eai do nil satin, veiled and finished wjtl fringe, and a mob cap, with an ostricl Illume fastened at the side; and two little girls, Miss Myrtle Charlesworth (the sister of the bride) and Miss .lean Turiibull the former in a dainty frock of pali pink channelise, with a fichu, and mol cap, and the latter in nale blue, also witl a mob cap. Baskets of autumn leaves am roses were carried by all the bridesmaids and to tho elder maids wore given gol< brooches, and to the little girls gol< bangles. Mr. Herbert Smith, brother o the bridegroom, was thn best man, am Mr. Ellieo Charlesworth was groomsman Mrs. Charlesworth, the mother of tin bride, wore a gown of mole coloured satin trimmed with Oriental embroidery am velvet, and a hat en suite. Her bouque was of red roses. Mrs. Smith wan in bind and white silk and carried a beauliful bou quet. The bride travelled in a navy blu< serge costume, with saxe blue facings, ha of black satin, trimmed with saxe blue and black fox furs. A reception was licit in tile afternoon at the home of Hie bride' parents, and in the evening a- (iaiice tool place. A Petone Wedding. On Saturday morning, at the resident of Ivor parents, Miss .Daisy Caverhill sixth daughter of Mr. T. W. Caverhill, o Petone, was married to Mr. Artliu Pyne, eldest "ton of Mr. Win. l'yne, bridgi inspector, New Zealand railways, Wanga nui. The bride was given nn'ay by lie father, and were a handsomely embroider cd robe, daintily worked, veil, and ornng blossom, and carried a shower bouquet o marguerite daisies. Mr. Frank Lewis wa best man. Tho bride was attended b; Miss Daisy Korslake, who wore an em' broidered' muslin robe, and cnrricd : shower bouquet, tied with emerald greei ribbon. Mrs. Caverhill received he guests in a handsome black silk dress trimmed with Maltese lace. During tin reception numerous toasts were proposed Mrs. Wm. Pyne, the bridegroom's mother was amongst those present. She wore i beautiful silk gown, trimmed with rea lace, and black hat, with ostrich plumes Tho brido travelled in a costume of hav bluo cloth, black picture hat, ami blac] fox furs, the latter being the present o tho bridegroom. Mr. and Mrs. Pyne lef by motor to spend their honeymoon ii tho north. Amongst the presents was i handsome solid silver tea service. Weddina at Te Araroa. Tho wedding took placo at Te Araroa East Coast, <if Miss Winifred fleald daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. ileald formerly of Cnrterton, and Mr. Ralph di Latour, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. d< Latour, of Gisborne. Tho Kev. Mr. Wi.lsoi was tho officiating minister. The bridi woro a cream serge tailored costume braided, with collar and cuffs of Irisi guipure, and a black tagel straw hat trimmed with berries. Her bridesmnid were Misses Marjono and Phillis d( Latour (twin sisters of the bridegroom) and Marie He.ald (little niece of tin bride). Social at Featherston. Dr. and Mrs. Palmer, who have residec in Featherston for tho past 17 years, an leaving next week on a holiday trip t< Great Britain. On Tuesday night the; were entertained byi the residents of tin Lower Valley at a social gathering in tin Town Hall. There was a largo attendance Mr. J. W. Card presiding. After" a pro gressive euchre tournament had been play ed, dancing was carried on till midnight Musical items were contributed by Mrs Fieldhouse, Mrs. Wickens, Misses Pattle Hodder, England, Brough, Dr. Palmer and Messrs. J. Carson and Bartholomew Dr. E. E. Brown will act as locum tenem during Dr. Palmer's absence. Mr. Dalryinnle and his daughter, Sirs Stace, returned by the Winimera on Fri day from a three weeks' visit to Auck land, Napier, and Hastings. Mrs. R, W. Gilbert left last night b; tho Maori for a month's visit to her sis ter, Mrs. (Dr.) E. Scott, Reeftou. Mr. Whittington, editor of the Waipaw; "Mail," and Miss Whittington are tin guests of Mrs. A. A. Corrigan. Miss Payne, matron of the Wellingtoi Hospital, leaves this week on a visit t the Wairarapa. Mrs. Henrv Blundell, Miss Bluiidell am Messrs. W. 'and G. Blundell. who havi been on an extended visit to England, re turned to Wellington by the L'limaro: yesterday.
