HUTT COUNTY COUNCIL.

The monthly meeting of the Ilutt County Council was held yesterday. There wcro present Councillors J. AVakcham (in tho chair), AV. Gallowav, T. Edwards, J. AVhiteman, M. AV. Welch, and AV. J. Howell. The report of the inspector of works (Mr. J. AV. Cudby) stated that the bridge near Mr. Bcavis's house at Aliatnrawn wa.s gradually subsiding. The inspector recommended' that some 10 x 10 piles be driven in. On the AVainui-o-mata Valley Road below Mr. Scholes's the ( bridge known as tho "crooked bridge" was in need of repair, and for this some 12.i0 feet of hardwood would be required.—The report was adopted.
