RETT'EXS FROM A CASTAWAY. A Te Kowhai settler (says tho "Te Pnke Time.s") is the owner of a sow which he claims has put up a record in the porcine lino. She was originally a miserable little- Utrkshire castaway, and was reared by hand; but she has handsomely rfwavilpil her owner for tin. , attention then bestowed upon her. The sow is only three yrars old; but slip has already produced five litters of VI. \i, ll 11, mul 17 pigs, or a total of li 7, which have all b<>en siild as wciuiers at an average of l.js. fa th.
