THE URUGUAY COMMISSIONERS
HOW THEY FOUND NEW ZEALAND. Tho members of the Uruguayan Agricultural Commission, who left .New Zealand yesterday, did not include this Dominion in their original world's tour programme. After examining tho Dominion's exhibit nt the Crystal Palace, and reading sonic of the literature bearing on this country, however, they decided to visit New Zealand. Now, after u few days' stay, tho commissioners regret that they had such a limited time here, because of the similarity between the forms of agriculture in vogue in New Zealand and the Uruguay. Tho organisation of tho commission is excellent. Each member is responsible for procuring particulars of special features, such as stock, implements, grain, fodder crops, orchards, etc., and every evening each man prepares his report on the experiences of the day, and ii genoral report covering what ho has seen. At intervals tho commission meets and discusses in a general way problems peculiar to the tour. In return for tho present tour each member of tho commission will bo required to give two years' service to the Uruguay Government in tho capacity of instructors amongst the farmers of "the country. It is stated that at least ono membor of tho commission intends importing to Uruguay for his own uso a consignment of New Zealand Eomney Marsh sheop.
