HIDE AND SKIN SALES.

Messrs. Dalgety nnd Company report:— We held our fortnightly sale of wool, skins, hides, and tallow yesterday afternoon, when we offered a good Relection of all classes to a large attendance of buyers. Competition was good for all lines submitted under the hammer, end prices were firm at late rates. Wool (oddments only): Crossbred, 63d. to 73d.; lambs, sd. to 7?d.: pieces, sd. to 51d.; locks, 2»d. to 4d.; crutchings, 43d. Sheepskins: Crossbred fine, 7j(rl.; crossbred medium, 6sd. to 7id.; broken and damaged, 4d. to s|d.: hoggets, 52(1.; lambs, 41d. to 6id.; dead, 4Jd. to 5Jd.; pelts, 2d. to 3id.: pelts, salted, Is. 10d. to 2s. Bd. each. Hides: Or. heavy. 7£d. to Sd.; ox medium, 7Jd. to 7>d.; ox light, 6jd. to 7id.: ox, cut and slippy. 51d. to 6Jd.; cow medium, 6W.; cow, cut nnd slippy, »id. to Gld.; horse, 7s. 9d. to Bs. 9d. each; calf, Rood, led. to 11 3-Bd.; calf, cut and slippy, sad. to Bid. Tallow, iridium: In shipping order, 255. 3d. per cwt,; in tins, 235. per cwt. Messrs. Abraham and 'Williams, Ltd., report .15 follows:—We offered a fair catalogue to a good attendance of buyers. Competition was good for all lots, and prices were firm, especially S3 for hides in pood condition. Murray, Bohsrts, and Co., Ltd., report:—We offered at yesterday's sale 30 bales wool, 2500 sheepskins, and 300 hides to a, large attendance of buyers. Bidding was very animated, and buyers vrcr.3 keen to securo lots. Prices ruled probably at a Blight advance on late rates, and for hides showed a decided advance of id. per lb. on last sale's prices. Tallow somewhat receded, and may he quoted Is., per cwt. lower, being in sympathy with London prices.
