MINERS CENSURRD.
LOSS OF £400,000 WEEKLY. SPECULATION IN COAL. London, March 7. Tho entire Ministerial press censure the miners. The "Pall Mall Gazette" demands the adoption of Australia's methods of compulsory arbitration, and the cutting off of strike funds. To-day's "Daily News" shows that the miners are feeling the pressure from other unions whose funds are being depleted. Electricians, clerks, and sub-managers are working in a big Glamorgan colliery, attending to ventilation and drainage. Tho loss, including miners' wages, in South Wales is weekly. The Trade and Labour Council ie urging the Cardiff City' Council to provide free meals. The feeding of school children is being arranged for at Mountain Ash, Glamorgan.. The North-Western Railway Company denies a report that it is about to make a reductiofi'"i'n"the"-'iiuirtber.'df:its drains.., William Crowsley, who was arrested recently nt Aldershot while distributing pamphlets advocating syndicalism, and asking the'soldiers not to act against strikers, has been committed for trial. The Yorkshire and Derbyshire coalojvaers have practically agreed to an eight hour day, for surfacemen, and better pay. Speculators at Cardiff hold one hundred thousand tons of coal, which was purchased at .21 a ton. They were offered 60 per cent, profit, but refused, asking 100 peT cent.
