DEPARTURE OF S.S. GERTIE. With the purpose of endeavouring to r*« float the- stranded steamor Himitangi, the Gertie will again leave Wellington for Waitangi, Chatham Islands, at I p.m. today. Special gear has l)ecn shipped in the shape of cables, anchors, and toir lines. Mr. A. Walker, ropresantinu Messrs. Dalgcty and Co., Wellington a(jont« for Lloyd's, will -accompany the Gertie fca the islnuds with the object of euperintending operations. It is, of course, only a matter of conjecture how long the Gcri tie will bo away from Wellington, as (lie duration of her absence naturally depends on how the work progresses.
