■ _-g——- , Still lanother cancellation of registration under tho Arbitration Act is in prospect. The Wanganui. Drivers' Union meets next week to consider whether it shall tako a ballot on the question or not. It is stated that the feeling of members is'strongly in favour of cancellation. Mr. 11. W. Cooper,'manager for Messrs. W. G. Turnbull and ' Co.'s Wanganui branch for the last three years, has been transferred to. the head office in Wellington. Mr. F. J. Walker, who has been landing waiter here for several years past, has been promoted to the position of Collector of Customs, vico'Mr. W. F. Dickey, who goes to Napier. The retention of Mr. Walker in Wanganui caused much satisfaction as, apart from his business abilities, ho has been tho moving spirit of the Wanganui Beautifying Society ond, to him, the greatest part of tho crodit is due for tho splendid work done by that body.
