LETTERS TO THE EDITOR.
THE OTAKI SEAT,
Sir,—Reading the letter of "Wide .Wake Next tiiiio." 1 take it he was ;i supporter of one of .Mr. Robertson's opponents, and is sore over the election, and lias Ijoen waiting a chance to attack the Labour member. True, lie support-til Sir Joseph Ward, despite his pledge, and good l,u -' k to him to consider the cause he stands for in preference to all else. "A nasty blow to Labour this" is the miserable cry of our opponents, but it is all rot. There is not one Labourite in this electorate grieving over the broken pledge, under the special circumstances, who is not politically a fool, and Mr. Robertson can rest assured of an enthusiastic reception when lie speaks again in Shannon. Again, why attribute Mr. Field's defeat to Sir Joseph Ward's weighty personality 'i The true roiisun is he could not combat a real Labour policy, and when the working farmer can identify himself as a bona lidu worker we will win in a walk.—J am, etc.. A SHANNON WORKER. Shannon, March 3.
