The Hon. J. A. Millar was , compelled yesterday, by pressure of Departmental business, to delay his intended departure for Auckland until to-day. He will return about four days hence. The Hon. P. His Honour Mr. Justice Chapman returned to Wellington last night. The Primate of New Zealand (Bishop Xevill. of Dunedin) has received from the delegates who nominated the Rev. Cecil J. Wood for the Bishopric of Melanesia, a request that the consecration should lake place at Norfolk Island. He has replied by cable that he can only recommend this to the General Synod, and refers those responsible for the request to the cauons of the Church. The Primate has, however, taken the necessary steps to have- the nomination confirmed, and, if possible, will arrange for the consecration at Norfolk Island. Mr. Ben. Fuller, who has been on a business trip to Sydney, returned to Wellington by Hie Moeraki yesterday. While in Svdney. Mr. Fuller engaged a number of vaudeville artist*, who are to appear at the Theatre Royal. Dr Milligan, of Toronto, Canada, who has been in New Zealand for three months, leaves to-day for Auckland, whence ho sails on March 15 for Vancouver. At an examination in sanitary science as applied to buildings and public works, held in Wellington, on, November 2 and 3 1911, under the auspices of the Royal Siinitarr Institute (London), tho following candidate presented himself, to whom rt certificate was awarded, Henry \Villiam Johnson, Karori. MY. Jl. J. lleardou was admitted to a private hospital on Tuesday suffering from appendicitis. An immediate opera(ion was itwmiecl necessary and was performed.
