There was a full attendance of H0r0.3 and Continental buyers, and bidding was exceptionally brisk and competition keen. The market for medium and inferior crossbreds and lambs' wool was oh a.par with February sale rates. There was httlo wool suitablo for America available and tho market, on tho small quantity offered, showed a, drop of about a halfpenny. Tin following comparison of prices ruling, as compared with the March sale of a year ago, and that of last month, will be interesting;— Mar. 3 Feb. 13 Mar. 12 1911. 1912. 1912. „ . d. d. d. d. d. d. Levin and Co. Mcßsrn. Lovin' and Co., Ltd., report:—Our cataloßuo represßntcd 600 bales. There was a good attendance of buyers for this period of the season, and a satisfactory offering. Notwithstanding the strike in England, competition was very strong, and nearly every lot offsred was takon at prices fully equal to tho February sale, eiccpt the best lines suitable for America, which lacked the competition from that quarter, and consequently declined a halfpenny. Lambs wool remained steady and strong. Yesterday's sale is the last of the prcs2nt season, and closes a very satisfactory series, during which we have offered 8,500 bales and only withdrawn 400 bales. Looking back at the prices realised there is svery reason to bo satisfied with Uie results. Loan and Mercantllei The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. report:—Our catalogue wa3 about 7CO bales. There was a good attendance of buysrs, and excellent competition. In many cases Jd. to id. per lb. advance on February passed-in wools were obtained, but. in some instances, a lower price had to be accepted. Th?re is no doubt that tho big cool striko at Homo had ths effect of lowering buyers' limits. A special feature of the sole was tli3 eager competition for lambs wool, buyers on French account being very active. The offering comprised a fairly large proportion of passedin lots from last sale. As a whole it was of poor quality.but we ar3 pleased to report that a, good elearanco was made at satisfactory prices. Some of our sales were:—On account of Mr. T. H. Windley, Te'Horo.
