REDUCED CREDIT BALANCE. In a T«port presented to the Tramwayl Committee of the City Council yesterday, Mr, Stuart Richardson (City Electrical Engineer and Manager) states that the gross tramway revenue for the four weeks ended February 2, 1912, shows a decrease of .£B2O, and the working expenses on increase of £444, as compared with, last year. The total result from April 1, 1911, to February 2, 1912, shows an increaso in the gross revenue of £4848, and an increase in the working expenses of .£4867. Aftor allowing for the year's proportion of capital charges there is a credit balance on the forty-four weeks of operation to date amounting to £2099, or .£1407 less than last year. On tho power supply account the revenue from the salo of current for the four weeks shows an increase of £183, and the working expenses an increase of ,£92. After providing for capital charges Ihero is a credit balance to date of .£7lO, or more than last year. The not result to date on tho combined accounts, tramways and power supply, is a credit balance of .£2815, a decrease of .£1143, as compared with last year. A summary of totals from April 1, 1911, to February 2, 1912, with tho comparative figures for the corresponding period of tho previous year, lias also been prepared. The chief features are as under (omitting shillings and pence):—Revenue: Tramways account i 117,169, increase .£4348; power supply account .£B3OI, increase £403: total revenue £125,470, increase .£5252. Working expenses: Tramways account £83,231, increaso £4860; power 6upply account £3588, increase £47. Estimated capital charges: Tramways account £31,838, increase' £1389; -power supply account £3995, increase £9. Total expenses £122,655, increaso £G397. Net surplus £2815, decrees* £1145.
