LIVE STOCK SALES.

Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report on their sale held at Levin 5-esterday:— Wo had a vary full yarding of both sheep and cattle. Sheep opened with a dragging sale, but improved as the sale went on, and wo sold the greater portion of our yarding. Cattle were not so brisk of sale, but we also sold the majority of these. Sheep offered on account of K. Eansfirid: B.M. ewes, to 13s. 9d.; cull ewes, to ss. 6d.; two-tooth wethers, 10.«. to 125.; four-tooth withers, to 13s. 6r1.; lambs, to 4s. On account of Mr. H. V. Hammond''. Four-tooth ewes, I4s. Id.; six-tooth ewes, to 13s. 9d.; s.m. eves, to 9s. sd. On account of other vendors: Two-tooth ewes, to 155.; mixed two-tooth sheep, to Bs. lid.: cull lambs, to 4s. Id.; cull ewe?, 3s. to 3s. 6d. Cattle: Fat cows, to £4 18s. 6d.; lnt bullocks, to £6 17s. 6d.; springing heifers, to £6 45.; empty heifers, to £3 145.; 18-month steers, to £3 lis.; weancrs, 125., 165., 235. 6d.. to 395.: 18-month heifers in calf, to £3 18s.bulls, 405., 425., to £0 3s. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency report:—At our Levin sale yesterday we offered 4CO sheen and 150 head of grown cattle to a fair attendance of buyers. The sale dragged somewhat at the commencement, bur, improved as it progressed. We passed in a line of very nice four. Bix, and eight-tooth ewes at 13s. Id. Cattle were also dull of sale, but, und»r the hammer and privately afterwards, we disposed of tho bulk of our entry at satisfactory prices. The following are a few of our sales:—Three-year-old bullocks, £6 103. to £6 155.; two-jear-old empty hc'fers, to £3 lis.; dairy heifers (yearlings), to £4; dairy cows (winter calvers), to £8; 18month steers, to £3 Is.; empty store cows, to £4 55.; bulls, £2 to £3 7s. 6d.; rams 12s. 6d. to 15s. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report :-At Palmcrston North, on Thursday, wo had a good entry of sheep and cattle. We had a total clearance of sheep, and the bulk of tho catt'e were also sold. Sheep: Store lambs, 65.; rape lambs, 95.; aged ewes, 6s. Bd., 7s. 4d., to Bs.; two-tooth ewes. 13s. 4d.; four-tooth ewes, 13s. Id.; four-y.ear ewes, 133.; f.m. ewes, lis. to lis. 6d.; store wethers, 12s. Cattle: Weancrs, 18s. to 245.; heifers in calf, £2 12s. 6d. to £3 55.; cows in milk, £4 55.; forward cows, £4. On account of tho Highden Estate (in conjunction with Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd.), three-year steers, £6 75.; Shorthorn bullocks, £7 2s. 6d.; Polled Angus bullocks, £7 Bs. to £7 10s. Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report:—At Levin yesterday an entry of 46 pens of sheep, totalling 4000 head, met with good competition, and, with tho exception of two lines, all sold under the hammer at satisfactory prices. We also submitted a largo yarding of cattle, but the demand was not particularly keen.nnd several lots went out unsold. Fat cv.es, 125., 12s. 3d.. 12s. 9d., and 135.; fat ewes and wethers, 14s. 6d.; light fat wethers, 155.; forward wethers, 13s. 6d. to 14s.
