RUGBY FOOTBALL.

The annual meeting of the Wellington Rugby Football Club was held last evening. Mr. T. S. Konnldson presided, and there were about 40 present. The following officers were elected:— President, Mr. T. S. Eonaldson; vicepresidents, Drs. H. J. M'Lean and A. Arnold, Messrs. A. T. Bate, G. C. Fache, J. P. Firth, N. Galbraith, 0. G. Kember, M. L. Lynch, V. B. Meredith, J. Murray, F. J. Pownall, J. Eman Smith, A. 0. Gibbs, A. K. S. Mackenzie, and J. Varnlam; club captain, Mr. D. D. Weir; secretary, Mr. Allen J. Hill; treasurer, Mr. John Thompson; Management Committee, Messrs. N. S. C. Irons, R. Lambert, J. Mnnro, H. Toner, F. Turner, L. Hulbert, and A. M'Nab; delegates to' Wellington Union, Messrs. Fache, D. D. Weir, and Kember; auditor, Mr. G. Sband. It was suggested that the commute* should endeavour to secure improved accommodation and better-marked grounds at Miramar. , , Mr. N. Galbraith said that last season Mr. D. Weir lad called a special meeting of delegates to consider the management work of tie Wellington Union. Mr. Galbraith complained that Mr. Weir had acted wrongly in doing that without hrst calling a meeting of lis club's committee. Mr. Weir replied that le lad consulted 75 per cent, of the committee, and they had all agreed with him in his proposal. „ , \ Mr. Galbraith asked for tie rule on tie subject. . iv i ii. Tho rule was read. It slowed that ta« committee lad power of management. Mr. Weir said that Mr. GalbTaitl wm making a mountain out of a molehill. There wag notling in the rules to say that lo slould lave consulted tie committee. This was a quibble. Mr. Galbraith replied he was not quibbling. He lad a long-sfandinr int»re»t in the club, and simply wanted things done properly.

The annual meeting of tie Poneke Football Club will be held in Scott s Rooms, Manners Street, on Wednesday evening next.
