TO-DAY'S DINNER. [Specially written for Tni Dojiihion.l SATURDAY. Kabhifc pudding. Potatoes. Turnips, Stewed nectarines. Sago pudding. SUNDAY. - lioast sirloin of beef. Potatoes. Green pens. Baked tomatoes. Apricot soufflcc. Stewed peaches. SUPPER. 1 Cold beef. Mould of sheep's tongues. Salad. Spanish cream. Stewed fruit. RABBIT PUDDING. Cut a rabbit into joints and put it into salt and water for 20 minutes. Uinc a basin with suet crust, and pack in the joints of the rabbit, taking caro to put the thickest pieces nearest to the crust. Add pieces of ham or bacon cut into dice, two hard-boiled eggs, fait, pepper, and one or two eschalots if liked. Stew the bones of the rabbit with pepper, salt, and a tiny grate of nutmeg, and pour about half a cup of this liquor into the basin, with two spoonfuls of cream or rich milk. Cover with paste, tie in a floured cloth, and boil for three hours. The rest of tho liquor may bo thickened with a little flour and poured round the pudding. The eggs and cream may he omitted if a plainer pudding is wanted.

Mr. Buick, the member for PaJmorston North, Mrs., and Miss Buick return to Palmorston North by tho Slain Trunk express this morning. ' Mr. Statham, M.P., and Mrs. Stathani left for the south last evening by tho Maori. Mr. and Mrs. W. Beetham, Mastorton, entertained a largo number of guests at a garden party on Thursday. 'J.he grounds yore looking particularly beautiful, tho flower beds, with their brilliant colouring, standing out vividly against the green smoothness of the lawns. Mrs. Bannister, who has been on a visit to Wellington, left on her return to Sydney by tho Ulimaroa yesterday. Mrs. MacShane, who has been visiting several of her Wairarapa friends, loft early in tho week on her homeward way to Auckland. ; Mrs. Tahuteau, Masterton, has gone on a visit to Auckland. The flev. H. Watson, of Masterton, and ' Mrs. Watson, aro spending a few days in town before leaving on a. visit to bugland. They sail next Friday for Sydney, where they join their steamer for London.

Mr. &nd Mrs. James Brown, residents of 6omo years standing in this city, are celebrating their silver wedding to-day. Mr. F. H. Smith, M.P. for Waitaki, left for the south last evening. Mrs, Smith returned to Waitaki earlier in tho week. Mr. Bradncy, the member for Auckland West, and Mrs. Bradncy. who have been staying at the Occidental Hotel, left for Auckhnd yesterday. Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Russell, of Hastings, are paying a brief visit to Palnicrston. Lady Davies and Dr. Muriel Davies, who linve been spending some weeks in New Zealand, left by the Ulimaroa for Sydney yesterday. Mr. Hugh Campbell, moinber for Hawkc's Bay, and Mrs. Campbell, left Wellington yesterday for their homo. Captain Dumaresq, A.D.C. to Lord Chelmsford, tho Governor of New South Wales, and his mother, Mrs. Dumaresq, have been spending thrco or four weeks in visiting various places of iuteicst in New Zealand. Yostcrdny they left Wellington by tho Ulimaroa for Sydney. ' Colonel Mooro and Miss Davids arrived in Wellington last evening by tho Maitai, on their annunl trout-fishing visit to this country.
