(By Tclegrapb.-Special Correspondent.) Wanganui, February 27. Tho Labour party intend nominating a candidate for the vaoivncy on the Borough Council caused by Mr. E. N. Liffiton's accession to the Mayoral chair. A large number of visitors have already arrived in town for'tho Wanganui Jockey Club's meeting, and a big influx is expected to-nnrrow. There is every prospect of the Cup -.nceting being n success from every point of view. Most of the visiting horses have arrived, and the racing should be full of interest, nv, the fields will be large and of good quality.
