.Messrs. Dalgety nnd Co., Ltd., report having held their usual stock sale at Waipukurau yesterday, when they offered a fair yarding of shesp and cattle to a moderate attendance of the public. They quote as follows:-01d ewes, Is. Bd. to 3s. Id.; lambs, ss. to 95.; two-tooth ewes, up to 145.; sound-mouth ewes, 8;.; four-tooth wethers, 135.; cows, £3 135.; three-year Bteers, £5 7s. 6d.
Messrs. Dalgcty and Co., Ltd., report on their Otaki sale, held yosterday, as follows:—Wo had a very full yarding of both sheep and cattle, which we sold up to late rates, and we quitted the majority of our entry under tho hammer. Sheep: Soundmouth breeding ewes, Bs. 9d. to 12s. 9d.; fat and forward ewes, to 12s. 4d.; two-tooth ewes, to 12s. Bd.; fat owes, 12s. 4d.; woolly swes, 13s. 2d., 13s. 3d.; cull owes, 2s. 6d., 2s. 9d., 45.; small lambs, ss. Id.; rams, ss. to 12s. 6d. Cattle: Two-year steers, £4 4s„ £4 7f., £4 12s. 6d.; eighteen-month steers, to £3 7s. 6d.; two-year heifers, to £4 55.; eighteen-month heifers, £2 75., £2 17s. 6d., £3 35.; empty cows, £3 'to £4; woaners, 265. to 285.; cows in calf, to £9 65.; bulls, 40s. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile report:—Wo offered at our Porirua Ealo on February 26 about 1000 sheep to a fair attendance of buyers, and sold all of our entry (except one small line of ewes) at satisfactory prices. The sale at the start was dull, owing no doubt to the recent strike, but, as the salo advanced, the bidding became more spirited. Wo report some of tho prices realised:—Two-tooth wethers, to lis. lid.; two-tooth swes, to lis. lid.: f.m. ewes, to Bs. 3d.; rape lambs, to 6s. 9d.; cull lambs, to 4s. 7d.; failing mouth ewes.. in low condition, 3s. Id.
Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their liautotara cattle sale, held yesterday at the station, Martinborough, in conjunction with Messrs. Murray, Roberts and Co., Ltd.:—The cattle were mustered in excess of advertised numbers, a total of exactly sixteen hundred being submitted to auction, excluding, of course, all calves running witli the cows. Taken' all round they were well drafted, a.nd in firstclass condition, the public making complimentary remarks on the quality throughout. The attendance was very satisfactory, but not so large as at tho sheep sale lvdd a fortnight previously. Buyers were, however, present from all parts. Tho following prices were realised:—ls2 fat and forward bullocks, £7 155.; 106 fat cows and heifers, £5 12s. Cd.; 95 two and a half-year strors, £5 lCs.; 212 cightecn-months steers, £4 55.; 201 two-year heifers. £3; 109 cightecnmonths heifers, £2 Bs.; 360 dry cows, £3 10s.; 250 cows and calves, £5 Ib.; 63 yearling steers and heifers, £2 175.: 35 vomig bulls, £2 12s. 6d.j six aged bulls, £3 12s. 6d. to £4 155.; working bullocks, £5 to £8 ss. Young draught horses made from £20 15s. to £28 10s.; aged draught horses. £19 to £27: mares and foals. £5 10s. to £11 2s. Unbroken hacks were sold at £5 2s. 6d.
Messrs. Williams and Kettle, Ltd., report having held their Kumiroa sale on February 20, when they offorcd a fair yarding of sheep and a small entry of cattle to a good attendance. The entry mostly oomprised sound-mouth ewes and cull lambs, which sold w.?U up to late rates. They 'cleared practicaily tho whole yarding under the hammer excepting two lines of good breeding ewes, which were disponed of privately after the sale. Cull lambs, from Is. 9d. to 3s. 5d.; shorn rape lambs, 7s. 2d.; s.m. ewes, small. 6s. lid.; old ewes, 3s. Cd.; Ilve-ycar Komney rams. 295.: f.f.m. owes. lOsf 3d.; two. four, and six-tooth ewes. 9s. 7(1. to lis. lOcl.: empty cows, from £2 10s. to £3 10s.; eighteen-month steers, £3. Messrs. Williams and Kettle, Ltd., report having held Hv-ir weekly sale this week in Millar's Road yards, when they offered a moderate entry of sheep and cattle to the usunl attendance ot the public. Bidding was slow, little being dispowd of under the hammer, several passed-in lots being sold afterwards privotoly. They quote as follows:—Old ewes, s"s. Id. to 6s. 6d.; fouryear owes, 10s, Id,; cull lamb:, 3s, 2d,;
trailers, mixed. 30a.; empty two-year heifers, £3 55.; cighteen-inonths to two-year steers. £3 7s. fid.
