SCIENTIFIC PARTY'S PROJECT.

A party, comprising Messrs. J. Black (Borough Curator), W. Park, sen., A. lioo Tiley, 11. Hepworth Whittaker, W. Rickards, .T. J. Whitehead, and A. Billens leave Palmerston North next week on a week's visit to Ruapehu, Ngaurnhoe, anil Tongariro. Messrs. Black and Park will pay special attention to tho sub-Alpine flora in the National Park, and they hope to return with some good specimens for the public reserves. Mr. Billens, who has ascended Ruapehu twice, and tho other two mountains once, will act. as guide to tho party.
