Onions.—The unrku is drawing suiiplies from the Auckland district, and prices range from lCs. to lis. per cwt., according to duality. Potatoes,—The supply is fully coual to the demand, and yalues range from os. 9d. to 4s. 9cl. per cwt. Pollard continues somewhat scarce, and I-- quoted at £7 lis. per ton. Hran meets with a moderate demand at £5 15s. per ton. Flour.—liest known brands are quoted at £') ss. per ten for sacks, ex store, la-s tlit? usual discount. Hams 9d., sides 9d., rolls 93d., shoulders 73d. _ Fresh eggs are in excellent demand at Is. od. to Is. 4d. per dozen. Butter.—Prime milled in bulk ie in strong request at lid. to Hid. per lb. Cheese—Medium, 61d. per lb.; loaf, 7|d. Customs duty collected at the port of Wellington yesterday amounted to £1448 7c. 3d. SUGAR PRODUCTION. Lieht, the well-known sugar expert, of Magdeburg, in his monthly circular, staUii that the production of beet sugar in Europe shows a decrease of 1,622,000 tons. He estimates that for the season there will be a total falling-oil of 1,484,000 tons.
