TRAMWAY MANAGEMENT.

DISCUSSION TO-MORROW EVENING.

At tho meeting of the City Council tomorrow evening, Councillor M'Kenzie will move:—"That before making any appointment as traffic manager, the council should again consider tho advisability of obtaining a report ou the tramway management from a well recognised expert."

Councillor Fitzgerald will move:—"That a board of management be set up to govern the Tramways mid Electric Lighting Departments, such board to consist of the Mayor, the Electrical Engineer, the Traffic Manager, the Lighting Superintendent, and tho Departmental Accountant. The duties of the board will be to administer tlio departments in accordance with the policy laid down by the City Council, to deal with all mattors pertaining to these departments in detail, and report to the Tramways nnd Lighting Committee." It is very probable that, in addition (o the proposals made in the foregoing motions, a further proposition will bo placed before tho council, by which certain controlling powers in connection with tho tramways management will be vested in tho City Engineer (Mr. W. 11. Morton).
