SHOW AND OTHER MATTERS.
The last meeting of the )\anarapa and F.a4 ('oj>t Pastoial and Agricultural Society's general committee was nttentled bv is members. The society's views were asked on the proposal ti. ionn an executive body, by the Federation of A. and P. Associations...is suggested l>y the Agricultural Conference, and a committee was appointed to discus Ihe matter and bring up a report at the uext meeting. The dates for the society's next show were, iixed for the week following the Hawkc's Hay A. and ]'. Society's show at Hastings. The financial statement was read, and showed that the society had prospects of reducing its overdraft substantially by the subscriptions and other items owing.
The annual meeting of the society was fixed for May 4 next. The Ground Committee met in the afternoon, aifd considered tho various suggestions made at the meeting of committee and stewards, Mhe most important being the roofing of the society's sheep-yards. It is hoped that this work will be accomplished in the near future.
It was decided that some minor improvements and repairs be attended to, and left in the hands of the chairman to carry out.
The Programme Committee met to allot the challenge cup presented by Messrs. Waiker and Hall for the next show, and decided to award it to the winner of most points in purebred cattle classes, to bo won three times, not necessarily in succession.
