LABOUR UNREST IN NEW ZEALAND.
♦ MR. W. P. REEVES SCOUTS ITS EXISTENCE. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyrieli* (Rec. February 19, 11.55 p.m.) London, February 10. Mr. VF. Peinbcr Eceves, formerly High Commissioner for New Zealand, in a letter to the newspapers replying to the recent statement of Mr. .T. M. Robertson, Under-Secretary to the Board of Trade, that unrest was very acute in New Zealand and Australia, says the expression "acute unrest" is unjust as applied to such exceptionally comfortable and thriving countries as Australia and New Zealand.
Mr. Reeves adds that for twenty years past New Zealand has suffered less from industrial turmoil than any other free couutry where white labour is able to assert itself.
