THE CITY'S VENTURE.

Ax an indication of tli« rapid growth of the electrical supply undertaking in Wellington during the last year, as compared with tho gas supply, it is interesting (says tho report) to note from (lie published figures of tho Wellington Gas Company's last report and balance-sheet, that the income of the company from tho sale of gas, products, and goods increased by X 2832, as compared with the previous year, an increase of 3.17 per cent., and 717 new services were connected, whilst the electric lighting department's revenuo for the last twelve months shows an increase of X 4707, or 10.3G per cent., and 1236 new connections were made.
