M 'Mister incident, said (hat he had dono nothing of fho .sort. He merely bad expressed regret to th:> board that the occurrence should Jiave happened. Jlo offered no apology. He addt-d: "Unless the board confirmed the appointment of Laver as the team's manage]'. I think that there is little probability of at least six of us making the trip to EnglanYl."
The Hoard of Control has accepted Hill's resignation as a selector, and has appointed Mayne as his successor.
