Gd. an hour for all work after 5 p.m. on Saturdays; (2) no work between midnight and 1 a.m. for three months during winter, except at Ss. 6d. an hour; (3) payment of 3s. an hour when dealing with explosives. Subsequently a motion was passed that (he union executive confer with Mr. Scroplc and tho Federation of Labour in regard to future negotiations, the voting being by open show of hands. It is practically oertain that from this out the union will swim with the federation. It is understood Mr. Scmplc advocated interviewing tho Union Company's general manager. In regard to future negotiations this courso will bo adopted. Under- tho circumstance! no further movement is likely under a fortnight. The local representatives of shipping companies havo not been furthor approached on the matter.
