AN IMPORTANT POST.
TO BUILD UP AUSTRALIA'S EMPTY NORTH. By Teleeraoh—Proaa AsßOolatien— Oaurriehl (Kec. February, 15, 1.0 a.m.) Melbourne, February 14. Professor Gilruth, of Melbourne University, and formerly Chief Veterinarian in Now Zealand, has been appointed Adninistrator of the Northern Territory. Professor Gilruth. who has held tho Chair of Veterinary Pathology at Melbourne University since 1908, entered tho New Zealand, veterinary service in 1883, and in 1898 was appointed Chief Veterinarian. Ho was born in 1871, and was educated in Scotland, London, and Paris, qualifying as a member of the Tioynl College of Veterinary Surgeons in 1891.
