Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their usual stock sale at Waipukurau on February 13, when they ott'ored 2CCO, sheep and 130 cattle to a large attendance of the public. Fat cattle were a shade easier, but prices for store cattle were well up to late rateo. Sheop were in lair demand. They emote as follows:—Fat ewes, Ids. to 12s. 6(1.; woolly lambs, Bs. 9d.; 2, 4, and 6-tooth ewes. 11s.; sound-mouth ewes, Us.; 6-tooth to 4-year ewes, Us. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report on their sheep fair, held at Levin yesterday, as follows:—Sheep cp.mc forward well up to advertised numbers, and although bidding under the hammer was dragging, we quitted a good portion of the entry at satisfactory prices. A line of 500 fat wethers did not come forward owing to the frccziiiK work* having ceased operations for a time. Altogether we have to report having had a sale far above our expectations. THE ADDINGTOjr STOCK SALES. lUv TelE=raoh.-Praa3 Association.) Christchurch, February 14. At Addington to-day there were good entries of stock in most departments, and a fairiy large attendance. Fat cattle were dull of sale without change of prices. Fat sheep and fat lambs were firmer, and store sheep were in active demand. Fat pigs again sold well, anil store cattle- and dairy cows were in good demand. There wafi a heavy yarding of store sheep, which consisted principally of ewes, a large proportion of which were oversea sheep of a useful clans. Lambs formed the chief part of t.he balance, wethers being in much smaller proportion than of late. There was good competition all through the sale, notwithstanding the large offering, anci values were well maintained.

All young ewes sold well, though at a shade under the late high prices. There was no slackening in the demand for wethers and lambs, and nearly all lines were disposed at auction at satisfactory nues. Best rape lambs sold at 12s. 3d. to 13s. 6d.; medium, 9s. 3d. to 125.: small, 6s. 6d. to 9--. 2d.i ewe lambs. There was an entry of 5536 fat lambs, as against 5350 last week, the bulk of which were of prime quality. There was keen competition, especially on the part of one large exporter, in order to complete requirements for shipment this month, and prices were accordingly firmer, wpcrially for medium weight lambs.. Heavy lambs did not show a relative rise, but the sale all through was a satisfactory onn to vendors. Tegs made 17s. to its.; a few extra to 19e. M.: ordinary freezing weights, Ws. 6d. to 16s. 9d.; lighter, 12s. to lfe

The yarding of fat sheep was a moderate one, and the market showed a, firmer tone for both ewes and wethers. An outside buyer was anions the operators, but there wa3 very little Imsiiio-s done for export. Towards the close of the sale prices eased somewhat, especially for the poorer classes of cv.'Cfi. This exceptionally large number, included some good quality bullocks, one' line of 24 head from the north being very prime. At the commencement of the sale prices were about ss. to Ids. below last week's rates, and they showed a further drop as the sale progressed. Best- bullocks made from £12 to £13; extra, to £14 17s. Gd.; medium, £9 10s. to £11: light, £8 to £9; best cows and heifen*. £8 to £9; extra, to £10 2s. 6d.; medium, £6 10s. to £7. There was a very large yarding of fat sheep, 385E being penned, and in consequence a number of pens were paesed.
