INQUEST AT BLNGAKA. Dt Teleeraph-Preen Association—Coprrteht Sydney, February 12. An inquest has been opened concerning the death of Mrs. Ball, whose charred remains were found in the bush near Bingara last month. Her husband, who was arrested on a steamer in Sydney on a charge of murdering her, in his evidence declared that he shot his wifo after she had taken poison. Hβ immediately placed the body in a whcolbarrow and took it to a paddock, where he burnt it in the hope of avoiding discovery. His only reason for shooting his wife was her great pain through drinking carbolic acid, and he had never quarrelled with his wife. He attributed her Teason for taking the poison to the fact that she had been long suffering from rheumatism. URALLA SHOOTING FATALITY. (Rec. February 12, 11.40 p.m.) Sydney, February 12. Alexander Handcock has been arres'eil near Armidale on a charge of the murdec of Emanuel Polsen at Uralla pn Saturday. In a quarrel at the bar of a hotel at TJralln, Emanuel Polseu, shearer, was fatally shot in the temple. During the excitement his assailant escaped to the bush. Jealousy over a girl was said to be the causo of the quarrel.
