IBy TeleEraph-Prc63 Association.) Duncdin, February 8. At the Magistrate's Court to-day Peebles and Halligan sued Grace G. Ritchie and David Ritchie for JC23 10s. 3d, for meat supplied. Mr. Scurr appeared for tho male defendant, who confessed tho claim; and Mr: Haulon for Mrs. Ritchie, who denied liability. The evidence showed that tho couple had been living apart for about a year, though not when the debt was contracted. The family was a very large one, and it took tho united efforts of both husband and wife and a number of the children to keep things going. Mrs. Ritchie was out a great deal nursing, and though she had several times paid money to the plaintiffs, she knew nothing about ordering the meat, and had given no instructions concerning moat. Air. Hanlon applied for judgment in order to securo the defendant from being further troubled, and this was granted, costs (£2 25.) being allowed. Judgment for tho full amount was entered against tho husband, and costs (XI Its.).
