DICKENS CENTENARY.

' Tho Dickens Centenary is being celebrated throughout tho country by dinners, meetings, readings, and pageants in the theatres. Floral tributes placed on the novelist's grave include several from members of his family, Dickensoninn clubs in tho United States, and elsewhere. A laurel wreath was placed on the memorial in Rochester Cathedral from Gads Hill, where Dickens died on June 9, 1870. A WORLD-WIDE PILGRIMAGE. (Rec. February 9, 0.5 a.m.) London, February 8. The pilgrims to Dickens's grave at Westminster Abbey included descendants of tho novelist to the third generation. Many wreaths were sent from various Dickens Fellowship Societies throughout tho United Kingdom. Tho United States sent a. great wreath,,of ;bay leaves inscribed: "Lord, keep'my memory green." A thousand poor children were fed at Lambeth to-day, and will receive souvenirs recounting Dickens's experiences as a poor boy in South London. Commemorative sen-ices were held in Rochester Cathedral.
