A UNIVERSAL ANTI-STRIKE LEAGUE.
Sir, —I have earned my own living since I was fourteen—l 2 years ago—and ray sympathies have always been with the "workers" in their efforts to secure better wugea and better conditions genorully. But, as a non-unionist, I strongly object to the tyrannic and Russo-auto-cratic attittido recently adopted by the unionists, and I think the time has arrived when non-unionists and the public generally should get their hacks to the wall and at least put up a fight against tyranny. I notice that when any union declares a strike, other unions donate sums of money, and make levies to support their brethren, while the companies and corporations who are fighting for the public receive no public support. My pnrposo in writing this letter is to suggest tho formation of a lenguo such as is indicated in my heading, to provide funds to support companies and corporations when thoir employees wish to run business according to their dictates. As a working man, with a limited income, I •■would bo glad to contribute- sixpence or a shilling a week to such a fund, and if my tellow non-unionists wish to save, themselves from a tyranny worse than that of any Kaiser, Tsar, or Sultan, they should take ths matter up and form a non-unionist union. There are, I feel sure, many thousands of men and women m New Zealand who would gladly join such a union if only the thing were properly set on foot. Personally I have not tho requisite business capacity to outline p. scheme, but the scheme is feasible and advisable, and I hope some of the many people interested will move in tho matter. Count me in every time.—l am, etc T1 ~ T ' DONKEYMAN. ' Dunedrn, January 31.
