A PROTEST.
J , "Sir,—The excellent tone of your articles on tho present "Striko Situation" will, I am sure, find fervid favour amongst tho sane proportion, of >the people-. It is refreshing to see that The Dominion does not pursue the policy of the politicians on the council, in pandering and scraping to the union. The tramway men are so iliany sheep following a shepherd whoso course lays amongst crags and rocky precipices, and it behoves tho council and the people to stand "hnrd by" and not give up a single inch of their ground. These blatant, arrogant, .labour disturbers aro a, menace to tho country, and yet then , actions are seconded by certain city councillors. Is it not quite time that our City Council were freo'from these vote-catchers? It is the old. old story. The public are not considered one tittle, except when time arrives. This is the same spirit that has been fostered 'by "W-ardism." Perhaps when "doctor Jlassey" arrives on the scene with hi 3 "lance" .this "festering sore" will, be removed, and tho country will gradually find its way back to a healthy condition. In conclusion let me express tho hope that the public will liave sufficient backbone to make these law-break-frs realise that they are tho employees, arid that when they assume the role of dictators they aro standing on shifting Bunds.—l am, etc., WALTER E. HALL. Wellington, February 2.
