Five thousand men at tho Tilbury Dock have struck against the employment of lion-nnionists. The shipowners will consider tho situation on Monday next. NON-UNION TALLY CLEEES. (Rec. February 4, 5.5 p.m.) London, February 3. Work at tho Tilbury Dock is practically at a standstill. Tho wharves affected include tho Orient and the Peninsular and Oriental. The dispute commenced owing to the employment of non-union tally clerks. MINIMUM WAGE RATES. London, February 2. The Miners' Federation has adopted varying minimum wage rates, according to tho requirements of districts, as the basis of local negotiations with the coalowners, and finally for a national conference of both sides next week. INCREASED WAGES REFUSED. London, February 2. The masters refused the cotton-weavers' application for an increase in wages until peace has been 'restored. The operatives decline the terms, and a general strike is anticipated. Extra police have been dispatched to Nelson. POLICE CHARGE A CROWD. (Rec. February i, 5.5 p.m.) London, February 3; Tho persecution of Catholics at Nelson continues. The police, who are escorting them to their homes twice daily, •. were forced to charge the crowd. ENROLLING NEW MEMBERS. (Rec. February i, 5.5 p.m.) London, February 3. Tho Weavers' Union is enrolling many now members. WHARF LABOURERS AGAIN. Sydney, February 3. Trouble has occurred at tho Newcastle Company's wharf, the casual wharf labourers refusing to work unless the' constant wharf hands are dismissed.
