KIND WORDS.
MAGISTRATE TO YOUNG GIRL. A juvenile—a young girl—who appeavs ed before Dr. M'Altkur, S.M., yesterday, accused of theft, received some kindly advice. The girl pleaded guilty. "Well, you see, my girl," said his \Vor< ship, "what you have got yourself into. You are young yet, and have, or 1 hope you have, many years ahead of you. I think the mere fact of your coming hero will be sufficient warning to you in the future;- ' This is a bad beginning, and you must not continue. These things lead to others—they lead to further trouble, to .a life of one continuous trouble. You will bo convicted, and ordered to come up for sentence when called upon, which means that you are free to go now, and so long as you keep honest you need never come here again, or to any place like this. I hope you never will. You may go."
