Present indications are somewhat threatening in the northern and eastern parts ot tho North Island, bat not definite enough tor a storm forecast. Strong south-easterly winds are probable northward of Farewell Spit and Kaikoura, with unsettled and cloudy wkither and showers on the East Coast. Southerly broczes and changeable conditions probablo elsewhere. Tho barometer is likely to fail about East Cape, but is due to rise high' in the south. The baromster has rison in the south, and southerly winds havo prevailed with changeable weather. Cloudy and misty weather is reported this afternoon in many parts, especially in the North Island, and there aro indications for tho development of a cyclonio disturbance to tho northeastward of the Dominion. Hastings, January 29—To-day the weather has been cool, with a dull, threatening sky.
