Active preparations have been made by local Maoris to provide "kai" (food) for a large number cf Natives who have been summoned to attend a big korero at Vi'jialii (Malwta's settlement near llunlly) to-morrow in connection with the objection to Dr. I'omarc, JI.P., Hie successful candidate for tile Western Maori District, it being alleged that lie is a tlircoquartcr caste on Hie Kuropwui side, and is therefore not eligible to sit.ns a Maori member. It is stated that should the nll?S'ation bs proved, M.;s?rs. llcnave Kailiaii (the ex-member) amlTepouo Kketone, two of the runncif-iiyi at Ihe recent election, will have a straight-out fight for tlw seat.
