ENORMOUS DEPRECIATION,
By TelecraDh—Press Assoniitlon-OoDrrlEhl (Rec. January 26, 8.5 .p.m.) London, January 26. Lord St. Aldwyn, presiding at a meeting of the London Joint Stock Bank, stated that nine of the largest London banks bad written off for depreciation of gilt-edged securities since 1903. The Joint Stock Bank had adopted tho policy of investing in short-dated bonds instead of consols.
